However, a more effective solution is to provide people with a better education. Do you agree or disagree?」という問題文をみましょう。この文章の背景情報は「Prison is a common way to solve crime」ですが、「However」から質問が出てきます。簡単に言うと「PrisonやGood Education」の選択肢の中でPrisonとしての解決方法と良質な教育としての解決方法という両方の方に答えないといけません。多くの人は前半の部分を無視しながら、後半の部分にしか答えます。採点するときは「Good Education」のみに言及する人は約6割ぐらいの点数をとります。一方で、「Good Education」と「Prison」に集中する人は約8割ぐらいの点数をとります。残りの点数はエッセイの形式自体によります。つまり、ＩＥＬＴＳの試験を受けるときにちゃんと問題文を読んでからどう書くかを決めてください。 ★問題を日本語に訳すと「犯罪の解決として多くの国では刑務所が一般的な方法になっています。しかし、それよりも人々に良質な教育を提供することはより効果的な解決だとみなされています。あなたは賛成ですか？反対ですか？」になります。 来週はまた違うコツを紹介します。😁 今仕事で忙しいので返事と投稿が遅れるかもしれません。もし遅れたら申し訳ございません！お待ちいただければ幸いです。🙇 何か質問があればコメントセクションで聞いてください。なるべくコメントを返します。もし日本語の間違いがあれば訂正してもらえると嬉しいです！🙇 **Language**: Japanese *80 likes · 5 comments · 80 views* [View this moment](https://www.hellotalk.com/moments/WPqJOOZRSOZDDD.md) --- ## 2. 8/20/2021 今日は英語で青を含む表現を紹介します！🔵 1）Out of the Blue ★意味 →「Out of the Blue」を日本語に直訳すると「青の中から」になります。「Out of the Blue」は英語でよく使う表現です。意味は「突然」、若しくは「出し抜けに」というニュアンスになります。突然に何か起こる時に使う表現です。「Out of the Blue」の語源は元々「Out of the clear blue sky」という表現から出ています。これを日本語で説明すると晴天から突然に何かが起こるという意味です。例えば、「晴天からいきなり雷が落ちる」を英語で「Out of the clear blue sky, thunder falls」と言いますが、「Out of the blue 」の方が言いやすいため、その略になっています。他の言い方だと「Unexpectedly」、若しくは「Suddenly」も使います。 ★使い方 → 予期していなかった時に何かが突然に起こったら「Out of the Blue」を使います。口語でよく使われている表現です。 似たような表現として「A bolt out of the blue」という表現もあります。これを日本語で訳すと「思いがけない出来事」になります。Boltという単語は恐らく「Thunderbolt」や「締め釘のボルト」から分かると思いますが、この表現に出てる「bolt 」は飛び出せる、若しくは出し抜けるという意味を当てています。この表現は副詞と修飾して使うことができます。順番について、文末に来ることが多いですが、文頭に来る時もあります。文章で使う時はよく「Came out of the blue」、「Appear out of the blue」のような言い方をします。「Out of the Blue」の代わりに「Out of Nowhere」を使うこともできます。日本語で訳すと「どこからともなく」になります。つまり、全く準備していなかった時に使う表現です。 ★例文 → 👩→ My boyfriend appeared out of the blue while I was changing last night. 日本語→ 昨晩、着していた時に突然に彼氏が出てきたよ！ 👩‍🦰→ Haha, that must have been awkward. 日本語→ 笑笑、それは気まずいじゃん！ ☆★宿題として「Out of the Blue」を使って文章を作ってみましょう！コメントセクションにあげたら時間がある時に訂正してあげます〜是非使ってみてください！来週、また青を含む違う表現を紹介するので楽しみにしてください！🥰 今仕事で忙しいので返事と投稿が遅れるかもしれません。もし遅れたら申し訳ございません！お待ちいただければ幸いです。🙇 何か質問があればコメントセクションで聞いてください。なるべくコメントを返します。もし日本語の間違いがあれば訂正してもらえると嬉しいです！🙇 **Language**: Japanese **Voice**: [Listen to recording](https://us-ht.oss-us-west-1.aliyuncs.com/mvo/us-ht/20210819/6555565_315f6346db571251fe7e0005f2db7441.aac) *72 likes · 9 comments · 44 views* [View this moment](https://www.hellotalk.com/moments/LIDGrNOuuanMZD.md) --- ## 3. 8/14/2021 今日から新しいシリーズを始めます〜😄 映画や番組からの英語を紹介しようと思います！ 今日は「You're toast」という表現を紹介します！🍞 ★意味 →「You're toast」を日本語に直訳すると「あなたはトーストです。」になります。この表現は英語でよく使うスラングです。意味は「おしまいだ」、若しくは「もう終わってる」というニュアンスになります。人をトーストと呼ぶのは悪口に聞こえますが、この表現は悪口ではありません。代わりに、困っている時に人をいじめるためのスラングです。例えば、クビになりそうな友達が居たら「Oh, you're so toast」と言って「やばい終わってるね」という意味になります。 ★使い方 →　他の言い方だと「You're in trouble」、「You're doomed/ruined」等も使ったりします。「You're toast」は砕けた言い方なので友達とのみ使ってください。自分に対して使う時もあります。「Be toast」、若しくは「I'm so toast」という場合もあります。同様に、「しまった」、「やらかした」、「駄目になる」という意味を持っています。真剣なことではなくても使えます。例えば、鍵を忘れた時に「I forgot my keys, I'm so toast」ということも言ったりします。つまり、困った状態にあったらこの表現を使います。今度困った時に「I'm toast」を使ってみてください。 ★例文 → 👩→ I forgot to tell her about the test tomorrow. 日本語→ 彼女に明日のテストについて言うのを忘れてたわ！ 👦→ Oh, she's so toast! 日本語→ えっそう？彼女はもう終わったね！ ☆★宿題として「You're toast」を使って文章を作ってみましょう！コメントセクションにあげたら時間がある時に訂正してあげます〜是非使ってみてください！ 来週は違うレーズンを紹介します。★☆ 🍞 今仕事で忙しいので返事と投稿が遅れるかもしれません。もし遅れたら申し訳ございません！お待ちいただければ幸いです。🙇 何か質問があればコメントセクションで聞いてください。 **Language**: Japanese *71 likes · 17 comments · 38 views* [View this moment](https://www.hellotalk.com/moments/POSNXUDbDkXMZD.md) --- [View all moments on HelloTalk](https://www.hellotalk.com/partners/ht_robeeaan/moments.md) [Back to ロビン Robyn Робин's profile](https://www.hellotalk.com/partners/ht_robeeaan.md) --- ## Language Exchange Partners -
