I was really happy about that because I thought they liked my way of writing moments or my thoughts. But I realized that they are at the top of the activity ranking. It started in the late 70s. We have been discussing it since 90s, but we still don't know how to solve it. It's said that decreasing the number of marriages is one of the main reasons for this as many people think they should make children after marriage. Needless to say, I had the same opinion as well. This thought had been working well before the end of WW2 since the social pressure of marriage was quite strong and arranged marriages were very common in Japan. But after the war, the value changed. Along with the decrease of social pressure, arranged marriages become less and less. As a result, Japan has been suffering from this issue for a long time. In my opinion, our culture makes us feel difficult to marry. Japanese people often speak indirectly because it is considered good manners. I like this culture because it makes people nicer and kinder, but at the same time, I also think it's problematic in terms of communication and making relationships. I think we, Japanese, are not good at making relationships, especially romantic relationships, and the characteristic is getting more and more noticeable along with spreading the internet. It's very difficult for a country to change the attitude and mindset of its people. They really enjoyed it and told us many things they experienced there. One thing they mentioned surprised me a lot. During their trip, they had a wagyu beef rice bowl. Of course, you must try fancy stuff if you go somewhere on your vacation. They told me that it was 2200 yen and I thought it was very expensive at first, but when I checked how much it costs in Swedish Krona it was like 150 kr, then I thought it was cheap because a lunch meal at a restaurant usually costs around 180 kr in Sweden. And I realized that after that when I went to school, I felt less stressed about speaking English and Swedish. Because in their culture, they don't use さん. So I didn't install the Twitter app on this phone. When I started using Twitter, it wasn't like that. People wrote just silly stuff, and chatted with each other in a nice way. But now, many people are arguing, attacking someone, trying to say something good to become popular. Instead of that, I use this app now. I'm not saying this app is perfect, but it's better than Twitter. For example, 私、僕、俺、うち, and so on. Basically, they all have the same meaning, but the nuances are a little bit different. Some of them are gendered and the others are not gendered. Some of them are formal and the others are informal. A few years ago, I decided to change my first person pronoun. I used to use 俺 when I talked with someone close, but now, I always use 私 because it always sounds polite and I felt like it's ridiculous to switch the first person pronoun depend on who talking with. Actually, it's quite common for people to change how they call themselves, especially when they are children. For instance, many little boys often call themselves 僕, but when they get older, some of them start feeling it's childish. For example, recently, I've been curious about marriages in India because it's quite different from the current Japanese marriage culture. So when I get the opportunity to talk with Indian people I ask this. And I often become like a 5 year old boy, asking repeatedly, what about this? Why? How? And so on. When I visit there, I always admire the beauty of nature. I also like Swedish traditional houses. It feels like I've wandered into a picture book world. And her family is always very kind to me even though my Swedish is not so good.
